131a Greenway Avenue, is a recent project nestled in the woodlands which historically formed part of Epping Forest. Rigorous planning restrictions were therefore implemented on the site, to ensure the proposal would not harm the local wild life.

The final proposal is a light weight timber framed building that hovers over the ground slender screw pile foundations, so as not to disturb the trees or wildlife. The proposal is highly sustainable, achieving PassivHaus levels of insulation and producing its own power through solar panels.

Alongside careful building design, the landscaping of the proposal was also considered. Using only native British plants, a sensitive approach was taken to the site, with a focus on increasing bio-diversity. A new pond is introduced, which creates a new habitat, but also forms part of the sustainable drainage strategy for the site.

This new build home features dramatic double height spaces, offering a modern and eco-friendly living space in a beautiful natural setting.
